Congratulations to Emily, this year's Havenwood Softball College Scholarship recipient!

Emily's Havenwood journey started at age five as a Blue Angel, and it's been the backbone of her athletic life ever since — through rec ball, into Havenwood Revolution travel softball, and off as the starting catcher for Chesapeake High School Varsity. Her resume speaks for itself: JV County Champions, Varsity State Semi-Finalists and Quarter-Finalists, and years of dedication that also included volunteering at the Hit-A-Thon, working the Snack Shack, and helping with field clean-ups — giving back to the same program that shaped her. Beyond softball, she's a three-sport athlete (volleyball, softball, and wrestling), where she served as team captain and helped establish the high school's first-ever women's wrestling team.

Emily pairs that athletic drive with an equally impressive academic record: a 4.0 GPA, AP Scholar with Honor, National Merit Cohort participant, and Superintendent's Honor Roll student every single marking period of high school. She's earned a Presidential Scholarship to Coastal Carolina University, covering the equivalent of in-state tuition, and has spent her free time volunteering with the National Honor Society, Best Buddies, and coaching youth summer camps — proof that her heart for community runs just as deep as her competitive spirit. Havenwood is proud to call her one of our own, and we can't wait to see what she accomplishes next.
